You’ve made the decision to take your business to the next level and invest in professional brand photography. It’s an investment you want to get right!
Obviously you’re going to look at lots of photographers work, you’re going to look at their portfolios, you’re going to look at their testimonials because you’ve got to like their style and you’ve got to see that they can do what you want them to do.
But more important than that is, do you like them?
You have to like your photographer. It’s going to make or break your photographs.
It’s a very intimate couple of hours that you’re going to spend with your photographer.
It’s daunting having a camera pointed at you and if you are not comfortable in their company, if they’re not your person, if you don’t get on, if you’re not the same type and you enjoy the same humour
and you’ve got a bit of chat going on, then you’re going to look uncomfortable and you’re going to look awkward and you’re not going to love your photographs – simple!
So the number one thing for you to do is once you’ve done your research and you’ve narrowed down the photographer style that you like and that are within your budget, speak to them on the phone, better, speak to them on Zoom face to face.
You can see them, you can kind of get their whole vibe! Meet them for a coffee, have another call. You don’t just need to stick to one!
But do you like them? Are they your person? Are they going to get the best
out of you during your shoot? Are they very chatty and you’re
very chatty and you like that?
Or are they very chatty and you’re a bit introverted and they are going to drive you bonkers during your shoot? Then they’re not for you!
You want to work with somebody who is like you, that gets you, that understands your business, asks you lots of questions about your business but more importantly, is going to make you feel relaxed and that you enjoy the whole process.
And that’s going to show in these photographs that are going to set you apart from all your competitors.
If you would like to chat to see if I’m the right photographer for you I would love that.
But if not, good luck finding your photographer – and remember you need to like them!
